I think as men were atracted to women we want to make a conquest out of.Women that feel like a challenge to get and thus when we bag them we feel more masculine.Plus,its much more interesting to have a conversation with someone that disagrees with you then one that parrots all your thoughts.
Marriage needs more then the willingness to procreate.The ex and i loved to practice procreating,even in the worst of times,it was everything else we didnt have in common.So to answer that part of your inquiry,you need more then sex to have a lasting relationship.
I think we are attracted by people most like ourselves.
